We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Technician with expertise in the Pet Industry to oversee and optimize our quality control processes. This role requires a meticulous professional who can efficiently adhere to quality standards, conduct inspections, and maintain compliance protocols while ensuring seamless reporting with our production teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with quality management systems and industry compliance requirements for consumables and hard goods.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides the required technical support for quality assurance
  • documentation
  • Compiles and submits weekly reports and analyses as assigned
  • Supports audit preparation by gathering documentation, organizing records, and ensuring compliance with requirements
  • Assists with inbound receiving of finished products and collecting samples
  • Measures, logs, and confirms on-site finished products match specifications before releasing for use
  • Reviews and approves internally printed master case labels
  • Places non-conforming products on hold and initiates root cause investigations as needed
  • Completes, verifies accuracy, and maintains raw material, WIP, and on-site finished product specifications
  • Conducts periodic internal auditing of processes and procedures
  • Assists with employee training and awareness
  • Participates in and completes administrative project work as assigned
  • Complies with food safety and GMP requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Business, or a related field
  • Vigorous attention to detail
  • Strong QA/QC background and skills
  • Experience in hands-on use of precision tools and equipment to weigh, measure, and inspect raw materials and finished goods
  • Keen understanding of FDA cGMP guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of audit procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and able to anticipate business needs and provide solutions
  • Utilize quality control analysis skills such as conducting on-site tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • On-site monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Ability to stand and/or bend for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, when conducting sampling or inspection procedures
  • Must be able to lift and carry items under role requirements, typically up to 25lbs
  • Requires regular movement between workstations, production areas, and/or multiple facility locations
  • May involve occasional travel between company sites or partner facilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with refining processes and creating documentation
  • Knowledge of the pet, health, or supplement industry and key ingredients
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of AAFCO and NASC guidelines
