Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented individual to play a key role in the scale-up of our genetic improvement platform, engaging in both discovery and product development projects. The Research Associate I, Molecular Biology will support various aspects of our molecular biology platform including plant genotyping, plant gene expression assays, and vector construction. This laboratory position is a hands-on role focused on supporting our CropVoice product. The right candidate thrives in a dynamic start-up atmosphere and takes the initiative to move projects forward. The candidate will work under the supervision of a team of molecular biologists but must be individually motivated. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential as this role is part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. The selected candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Education and Experience
- B.S in biology or a related field.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning.
- Experience performing general laboratory duties such as preparing media, buffers, etc.
- Familiarity with software used to analyze DNA sequencing data.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and LIMS/databasing tools)
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience:
- qPCR Assay development
- R statistical programming
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
