Position Summary
We are seeking a Research Lab Assistant.This role is based out of our Davis office.
The right candidate thrives in a dynamic start-up atmosphere, faces challenges as opportunities for growth with a positive mindset, enjoys the process of repetitive tasks while also being open and flexible to learning new skills and applying them to different research topics/techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Clean/put away lab “dishes”
- Regularly dispose of all lab waste
- Regularly load/run an autoclave
- Prep, maintain and process experimental plants
- Organize/file seeds
- Aid in various experimental processes such as: Imaging, media preparation, fungal inoculation, seed plating, sampling, construction/deconstruction of equipment
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Provide support across various team functions when necessary
- Provide ideas/feedback to improve work flow and overall efficiency/organization
- Microsoft office - Preferred
- Familiarity with google calendar/email - Preferred
- Basic computer skills - Preferred
Compensation for this role is $19/hour. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
