Agile Space Industries is seeking an onsite Senior Program Manager IV in Durango, CO to lead the execution of complex aerospace development and production programs across Agile's growing propulsion portfolio. This role is responsible for managing large, cross-functional projects from concept development through qualification, production, and lifecycle support while ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, cost, and business objectives.

The Senior Program Manager IV serves as a senior leader within the PMO, driving program execution, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement initiatives. This position regularly interfaces with executive leadership, customers, suppliers, and external partners while providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to project managers and cross-functional teams.

Success in this role requires extensive project management expertise, strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to solve complex programmatic challenges through strategic thinking and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple complex aerospace programs and strategic initiatives simultaneously, ensuring successful execution of cost, schedule, technical, and quality objectives
  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated program plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies while driving effective corrective actions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders throughout program execution
  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, test, and operations personnel
  • Drive program governance activities, including milestone reviews, gate reviews, executive briefings, and customer reviews
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to project managers and program team members
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels across internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement improvements to project management systems, processes, tools, and reporting methodologies
  • Support organizational planning efforts through forecasting, resource planning, and strategic program assessments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable quality management systems
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of PMO standards, templates, best practices, and governance processes
  • Analyze complex program performance data and develop recommendations to improve execution, efficiency, and business outcomes
  • Support proposal development, customer engagements, and business growth initiatives as required
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of project and program management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects with significant technical, financial, and organizational impact
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, risk management, resource planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance measurement
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating activities across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems requiring investigation, analysis, strategic thinking, and creative solutions
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing and improving operational processes, systems, and organizational practices
  • Ability to influence decisions and gain cooperation from stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Expertise in utilizing project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Agile or hybrid development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace, defense, propulsion, spacecraft, or other highly regulated engineering industry experience
  • Experience managing government, commercial space, or Department of Defense programs
  • Experience leading large-scale development programs involving complex technical integration
  • Demonstrated success implementing PMO process improvements and organizational change initiatives
  • Experience mentoring project managers and developing program management talent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant project or program management experience
  • Experience leading large, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams

The expected salary range for this role is $116,000-$174,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.
